With the second Microsoft Dynamics 365 release for 2022 coming up soon, we recently talked about the new features for the CRM modules and Power Apps that looked most promising. Now, it’s Microsoft Power BI’s turn! Indeed, this robust business intelligence solution will soon benefit from improvements and new features, too. Here are the new features we’re most looking forward to!
These new features will offer users more flexibility, control and visibility. Indeed, it will now be possible to choose the desired Excel formatting among several when running the report. A new API for finances will also be used in Excel and Power BI, allowing users to create more detailed analyses of the general ledger and budget data.
Moreover, a new application model based on this new API will contain standard financial reports and a dashboard displaying financial data, KPIs, and aggregated general ledger data. As such, users will benefit from optimal visibility on the data relevant to their tasks.
Users will be able to further customize their workspace thanks to this update. It will let you display or mask Power BI reports with the customization options instead of having to use a combination of the Display/Mask Power BI reports on the page and FactBox customization.
By clicking a simple link, administrators can install a Power BI application that will read data from the environment telemetry resource in Azure Application Insights. This will provide them an overview of Business Central performance, stability and use as well as any potential error.
Of course, there are only a few of the upcoming improvements! Microsoft is always listening to the Microsoft Dynamics user community and continuously implement new features to meet their needs.
