Fall is here, and with it the 2022 release wave 2 for Microsoft Dynamics 365 is coming up soon! We’ve shared some of the features we’re most looking forward to for the CRM modules, Power Apps and Power BI, but Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central too will benefit from new features and improvements. To give you a taste, here’s the new Business Central features we think look most promising!

Improved bank reconciliation

Bank reconciliation is essential for businesses and has to be completed efficiently and consistently. With this new Business Central update, the automation of cheque ledger entries and matching rules have been improved to make the process even quicker and more reliable.

Improved and renamed account schedules

Account schedules will now be known as “financial reporting” so that both new and existing Business Central users can grasp the key concepts of the system more easily. This feature has also been improved to provide a better overview of available reports.

Attachments support by Power Apps and Power Automate

Microsoft has improved the integration between Business Central and the Power Platform, making it possible to join and access documents, medias and other data linked to records even more easily. Thanks to the capabilities of Power Apps and Power Automate, this will open up numerous possibilities to users.

Excel layouts available from the report request page

Reports will offer more control and flexibility to users. For example, they will now be able to choose the desired Excel layout depending on their needs directly from the report request page with a simple drop-down menu.

New APIs dedicated to financial reporting

New APIs for financial reporting will be available for Excel, Power BI and other reporting tools. As such, it will be possible to use the datasets stored in Business Central to obtain advanced analyses based on data from the GL, financial periods, ledger entries and more, for easy reporting with the tools of your choice.

And these are just a few of the new features coming up for Business Central starting next month! To see the full list of upcoming improvements, read the Dynamics 365 Business Central in 2022 release wave 2 overview. Also, check out our favourite upcoming features for the Dynamics 365 CRM modules.
